Current approaches in acral melanoma diagnosis and management

Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) invites you to join us for an engaging educational webinar designed for all Skin Cancer Doctors, GPs, Nurses and other healthcare professionals who have an interest in skin cancer.

Acral melanoma is a rare form of melanoma occurring on the palms, soles or under the nails, often overlooked due to its uncommon location, making it crucial for healthcare professionals to recognise its signs for early diagnosis and treatment.

Our latest webinar features multidisciplinary experts discussing the incidence, diagnosis, management and follow up of acral melanoma.

Presenters:
• Dr Michael Rtshiladze (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon)
• Dr Christoph Sinz (Dermatologist)
• Joanne Phillips (RN)

Cost: Free

CPD: 1 CPD hour. A certificate of attendance will be provided. This is an RACGP-approved CPD activity under the RACGP CPD Program (Activity no. 763973).

Learning outcomes:
1. Describe the incidence of acral melanoma in different patient populations.
2. Recognise the dermoscopic features of acral melanoma and discuss the challenges that face diagnosis.
3. Discuss the approaches to management of acral melanoma including issues related to biopsy resection and reconstruction of acral sites.
4. Implement an appropriate schedule for follow up and review of patients with acral melanoma.

MIA’s Education Program is proudly supported through unrestricted educational grants from MSD, Bristol Myers Squibb and HEINE.
