Shared care between melanoma specialists and general practitioners is an increasingly important approach to meeting the needs of a growing population of melanoma survivors. LEARNING OUTCOMES- Enhance clinical and dermatoscopic diagnostic skills to accurately differentiate challenging melanocytic lesions and atypical presentations that may mimic melanoma.
- Explain the role of GPs and other specialists in delivering surgical services for skin cancer management and when to refer patients.
- Discuss the different types of radiological imaging modalities used in melanoma diagnosis and follow-up, and understand their respective strengths and limitations.
- Explain the benefits and limitations of various advanced diagnostic modalities, enabling informed decision-making in the diagnostic process.
- Identify strategies for effective communication and coordination among healthcare professionals involved in the multidisciplinary care of skin cancer patients.
- Recognise potential complications and side effects associated with immunotherapy for melanoma.
