Update on melanoma staging | 18 min
Accurate staging of patients with newly diagnosed melanomas is of great importance to obtain accurate estimates of prognosis and determine the most appropriate treatment options. The recent introduction of effective adjuvant systemic therapies for those with high-risk melanomas has made accurate staging even more important, by providing an objective means of selecting patients most likely to benefit from these therapies, such as those who are sentinel node positive.
In this webinar from Skin Cancer College Australasia’s Virtual Skin Symposium, Professor John Thompson AO explains the importance of accurate staging and provides an overview of the 8th Edition AJCC Melanoma Staging Manual – an essential resource to guide clinical decision making.
